just installed 4.08b,
thanks for the upgrade option instead of formating the drive
i want to dial up at say 9.30 and stay up till 12.30
is this a manual change ? with cron ?
i'd hoped you could set the times in the e-smith-manager
for the mail checking, i'd like it checked every 5 minutes but only
when the connection is already up
diald always starts and tries to dial out after a reboot
how can i stop this without killing diald permanently

Remember that that is just an experimental feature. I'm told that it won't be publicised in 4.0 as it hasn't had sufficient testing.

If you keep hoping, it may change some time in the future :-)
The problem here is the design goal of "As simple as possible" - in this case it means that that parameter is not selectable via the GUI.
For the time being it is a manual change.
I'll leave your other questions for discussion on the developer mailing list, if you don't mind.
