Hi!
I am using E-smith as a firewall and webserver but an W2K Exchange 2000 server for mail.
Can I get E-smith to check all incomming mails for virus via the dungog.net mailscanner and then forward it to the Exchange server???
Thx,
Michael.

Yes.
I implemented the same solution and works great.
I installed the Clam AV with the Dungog's rpm.
Works great.
Email is checked at firewall, if a virus is detected it'll reject the mail.
I'm using Lotus Domino, but should work the same with exchange

I forgot to mention, I'm also using the Dungog's Virtual Domain RPM to re-direct the mail to my mail server

Hi Andres,
You said you did implement Dungog's rpm... with clam AV
On Dungog site, which rpm is this. I did several test with damien how-to and still working on an antivirus protection for a non profit organisation.
Thanks

http://dungog.net/sme/products/index.php
Items 4 and 6 ( Mail and file virus scan, and Virtual Domains)
I installed clam AV, see steps in:
http://dungog.net/sme/help/index.html?page=smehelp/antivirus.html
The RPM is basically an add on to the manager page ( nice one) wich simplifies the use of the Antivirus S/W. You have to pay for it but is worth it ( is 25.00 for each rpm ) . So far, working great.

If you are looking for a 0 cost option for AV then panda anti virus for linux is a nice choice. "pavcl" I read somewhere that it could be integrated with e-smith.
