Hi NG,
I have two questions
1) is possible it to start on the "server manager" via https from external (InterNet)?
If how? Ask with Template information.
2) I would like to operate the Samba as WINS server.
If how? Ask with Template information.
I am grateful for each assistance.
Cheers

1. yes, go to the server-manager 'remote access' panel. Add your IP at the bottom of the page.
2. yes, make it a domain controller and wins will be enabled.

Hi RequestedDeletion,
Thanks for your assistance.
The thing with the WINS works.
But with the external access to the server manager there are still problems.
In the Servermanger I put on a host, which is permitted to the access by external.
If I start externally the server managers side now, I get the following error message.
Apache log file (SME):
[Fri May 30 11:57:07 2003] [error] [client 217.6.X.X] client denied by server configuration: proxy:http://127.0.0.1:980/server-manager/
And the Internetbrowser gets the following from the Apache back:
Forbidden
You don't have permission to access /server-manager/ on this server.
The IP address of the external Client is correct.
Does someone have an idea which be can?
Cheers

how did you enter your ip credentials in remote access?
-
ps. do _not_ post real data/info...

Also Stefan, did you 'Save' the configuration.
I got caught out by this thinking that because the IP address was showing, that it had been activated. It is not until you 'Save' that the appropriate items are updated and actioned.
