Hi,
I need to connect my e-smith server via ISDN securely through a firewall. I realise there are many different ways of doing this and i would like to know what the easiest one is.
Can e-smith be used as a firewall in server and gateway mode thus no need for a seperate hardware firewall? If so can someone direct me to somewhere where this is explained.
Is an ISDN router or modem better? My thoughts are that a router will be more complicated to set up as the router does the dialing not e-smith right? But can a hardware firewall be implemented if an ISDN modem is used connected to a com port of the e-smith machine.
As you can see my knowledge is minimal, sorry in advance if any of these questions are too basic for this forum!
Thanks,
Jason

That's exactly what it is designed to do/be.
