Title: IMAP mailboxes
Post by: Hasan Muhammad on July 12, 2000, 02:41:33 AM
I installed e-smith=4.0b8 and created several users.

On a w98 client machine using Outlook Express, I setup a user identity with a POP3 mail account.  I successfully sent and received mail for this user/mailbox.

On a w98 client machine using Outlook Express, I setup another user identity with a IMAP mail account.  I unsuccessfully sent and received mail for this user/mailbox with the following error message...

Connection to the server has failed!
Configuration:
   Account: mail.al-technologies.com
   Server: mail.al-technologies.com
   User name: test1
   Protocol: IMAP
   Port: 143
   Secure(SSL): 0
   Code: 800ccc0e

Any ideas?

Thanks Hasan,

This has been fixed in later versions of 4beta.   An RPM for IMAP was never getting run, hence no IMAP capabilities.

When V4.0 is released, this will be fixed.

Also note: B10 IMAP shouldn't work either.

And as mentioned elsewhere, there is a working RPM at:
