I once again show my complete ineptitute for this by asking the following:
Is there any way to get my SME server to map a windows share to it, so that I can share it over ftp. Another example would be to use netjuke to share files that are on another windows file server as the comp with SME is limited in HD size
Many thanks, learnt a lot today already

Hmm. Not great from a security perspective, but I'm sure it can be done.
Look for the samba-client package for RedHat 7.3, and you can use smbmount to mount a windows share on the server.
Frankly, harddrives are cheap. Go buy a 40Gig harddrive and upgrade the box. It'll be less complicated and more secure than making a share on a PC on the local LAN available to the internet.

sorry if this is a double post, lost it somewhere!
Normally I would agree with you, but the windows share represents a sizable amount of data, on a raid that I would like to be able to access through VPN, FTP, and netjuke
Will have a look into samba, thanks for both your speedy replies, much appreciated
