Title: e-smith and freedns.org
Post by: graviton on June 14, 2003, 05:40:45 AM
Has anyone used the service freedns (http://www.afraid.org) with an e-smith and a dynamic ip address. I am looking for a configuration script which will make this run for a small nonprofit office.

Thanks for any tips

I had a couple of customers running with afraid.org, we ran into stability issues with them to the point of being down for over a day and ended up having them pay for a static ip and then using zone edit, made life alot easier.

just my two cents.

Hi,

Why don't you use the other recommended DNS providers that come with E_Smith.  DYNDNS (www.dyndns.org) are free and once you have found how good it is you might even send them a donation as requested.  The hassle free and easy setup is worth the donation there after.
