How can I check the disk health of my two hard drives (raided under SME soft raid)?

Try this:
 cat /proc/mdstat

result should be like this (obviously different in blocks)

md2 : active raid1 hda3[0] hdc3[1]
      264960 blocks [2/2] [UU]

md1 : active raid1 hda2[0] hdc2[1]
      7879808 blocks [2/2] [UU]

md0 : active raid1 hda1[0] hdc1[1]
      104320 blocks [2/2] [UU]
the 2/2 and double UU means OK for mirrored partition partition

Does that look OK? It's just that I thought the drive made a funny noise last night.

In fact, I can't get anything to work on contribs.org. All the links I follow are dead ends. All come up with error 404.

I've tried in Internet Explorer and in Mozilla

I'm confused by your statement about contribs.org.

If you are having problems at contribs, please contact me offlist to discuss.  I'm not aware of any issues at the moment.

I've just mailed you a screen shot of contribs.org not working. All I get is error 404 every time I use any of the links on contribs.org - and it's not just happening with one browser - I've used several. It seems that the site is a bit broken. I have no problems accessing other sites.

My thought is that the poster (Del) simply missed hittng the space bar and was saying "Hope this helps"  Give it a try with this link instead.
