Have installed the latest rpm for this no problems plus the antivirus panel from dungog.net Updated the virus list but in the log file it says that there is an error and the checksum of viruses.db2 is not OK? Tried to update several times but same error on viruses.db2 the other is OK.
Next any attempt to save the configuration with either email scan or file scan selected results in the following"Software error:
Error occurred while updating system configuration."
Next an attempt to use clamscan also fails with the log error
/usr/bin/clamscan: unrecognized option --quarantine=/tmp/clamav'
ERROR: Unknown option passed.
Finally the mail server is broken and now will not send mail!
Clamav 0.6 and the dungog panel are the only antivirus things installed. Any suggestions apart from taking them off the server to see if I can fix the broken email?

With both clamav-0.60-1.i386.rpm and dungog-antivirus-0.1-10.noarch.rpm both removed using rpm -e and several post-upgrades and reboots later the email server is again working. Anybody else have problems with this?

I'm getting the same error message only I could not get clamd to start on 5.5. My mail server is still working but now am left without virus protection. I got the following message when i tried to start clamd
ERROR: Please edit the example config file /etc/clamav.conf.
ERROR: Can't parse the config file /etc/clamav.conf
even though i followed all the instructions of the howto at pagefault.org.
Wondering where I can get the old 0.54 clamav to reinstall on my system. Any ideas??

Robert,
Just a thought. Did you edit the clamav.conf file on a Windows PC then copid it to SME or did you edit it directly in SME ?
If you edited in Windows you need to "fix" the file before Linux reads it correctly. Simply opening the file for edit in SME with pico, save and exit and the file should be readable by Linux.

Thanks Kevin
Though i did edit clamav.conf on the SME machine i went through it again and
found that i had made some errors on the file itself. Re-edited it and now
evrything is working fine.

OK just so you know am also getting the checksum error on viruses.db2 when i run freshclam, might there be a problem with the file itself?

Quite a few people (inc me on 3 systems) are getting the checksum error and it has been reported on the clamav list, but the main protaganist has yet to comment.
