Title: Not receiving emails from outside world
Post by: Peter on June 28, 2003, 08:45:24 PM
Hello all,

I am running SME 5.5 for quite some time. It stopped receiving emails from outside world for the last 3-4 days. I am running SME with Sympatico ADSL. I can send emails out but can not receive.

I will appreciate your help to fix this problem. I am using Sympatico SMTP server for mail forwarding.

Regards.

what does the log say: /var/log/maillog ?

to get more log output, edit (temporarily) the file /etc/fetchmail and change --silent to --verbose. Then start fetchmail by: /etc/startmail

After that ceck the log again. Don't forget to change silent/verbose back again

Thanks for your reply. Sorry, I don't know linux at command level. It looks like Sympatico has block POP3 port. They have already blocked SMTP port but the workaround in SME is to use Sympatico's smtp but this POP3 blocking is something new.
