Title: restor a backup to a new server
Post by: SSBN on June 29, 2003, 11:43:16 PM
Httpd-admin fail

Ok here is what I want to do. I have an SME 5.6 server set up and running. It hosts a few web pages and a few emails. I added a few things to it like ASWstats and system updater. The computer in a p350 with 256 ram and a 6gin mirror set.

I just gut a 4U duel p400 with a 20g hardware rade five and 512 of ram and a tape backup.

What I want to do is move over to my new server. I have tried installing SME 5.6 on it and doing a restore but the httpd-admin fails on boot up.

I have tried a few different things. I have installed all the add-ons I have with my old server on the new and then tried a restore. I have also just tried with a fresh install of SME. But they all end up the same way with an httpd-admin Fail.

Can any of you help me out?

Is there anything in the log that can give a clue as to why http-admin will not start?
