Title: What backup drives supported
Post by: Darren Walker on July 10, 2003, 01:46:22 AM
I have an old server that I have setup as an SME server - it contains a travan drive which is about 8Gb. Is it supported by the SME server. It allows me to set up a backup, but how can I tell if it is backing up and putting anything on the tape?

Thanks

Darren

Darren,

Just like any backup program on any OS, ie. try and restore something then do a file compare. Even if a backup program tells you it has backed up something, you must still periodically do test restores to verify that everything is working fine. Since you are using Travan based drives, this is especially important.
