Title: Joining Two Networks
Post by: sm@rt on July 10, 2003, 03:05:03 AM
I currently use SME 5.6 with a Dlink 504 Firewall Router for my home office network. This is connected to a static ip address broadband connection.

Two Windows 2000 servers and two Windows 2000 Pro clients all operate within the local network and have access to the internet.

I am opening a new premises across the road, which will also have a static ip addressed broadband connection through a dlink 504 firewall router, but for now just one pc.

I have setup various ibays for both local and ftp access and they all work fine. This will allow me to access my data from across the road, but ideally, i would rather connect and use a 'mapped networked drive' or join the network from the new office.

how do i do this....please ?

Thanks for the info, but could not find anything... I have heard of ipsec being mentioned, but dont know how to use it, does it have a server-manager panel?
