Title: Hoow to tell if a sme server has rebooted
Post by: Alejandro Lengua on July 15, 2003, 02:06:32 AM
Is there a way to determine if a SME server has been rebooted, for instance during the weekend?

Is there any log I can check?
A customer is asking me why they haven't received any email during the weekend, one question could be and ISP failure (I am asking about that already) and the other is a power failure that may have forced a server reboot.

The server is working fine right now (as always).
I am using SME 5.6

the easiet way that i know of is just ssh into the server with the "admin" user name and password and it should bring up the console, and then choose server uptime, and it will tell you how long the server has been up for.

Or check your boot log file, it will have dates and times in it, just check the last date/time that it booted.

"w" or "uptime" commands will show it as well.

/var/log/messages will have details of server restarts
