I have registered 'myaccount.homelinux.org' with dyndns.org, but do not understand what to enter in the SME setup screens.
do i enter 'myaccount.homelinux.org' into domainname and type something else for server name,
or
do i enter 'homelinux.org' into domainname and enter 'myaccount' into server name.
the reason i am asking is because regardless of what the domainname is 'myaccount.homelinux.org' or 'servername.myaccount.homelinux.org' it does not appear in my local network using internet explorer. it does appear in hostnames and addresses in server-manager.
my apologies if this has been asked before, did search forums but did not find anything.
many thanks

there are only a few dynamic-DNS services supported in SME.
my hint: use dyndns.org with mydomain.dyndns.org.
mydomain.homelinux.org is not supported.

hello,
i'm new to sme server and have installed version 5.6.
do i have to install any updates or patches to use the automatic dyndns update?
if so, where can i find them? if not, where do i configure this function? i searched the manual without success.
thanks for helping.

you can configure it in the management console.
you cone to this when you log on as admin.

Still not sure whether i have this setup correctly.
I have now changed my free domain name with dyndns.org to use myaccount.dyndns.org instead of myaccount.homelinux.org, BUT
Can anyone tell me what i am supposed to enter where in the setup screens.
is it 'mydomain.dyndns.org' in the domainname
or
is it just 'dyndns.org' and 'myaccount' in the server name.
many thanks!
