I cannot figure out how to get SME 5.6 to update itself and there is nothing mentioned that I can find in either the docs or a search of the archives.
What is the procedure to make sure my setup is up to date?

Bill,
Unless you purchase the SME product from Mitel you will not be able to use their automated "blades" update mechanism. There are updates available via ftp/http download. Just go to the links from the download link on the main e-smith.org home page. You will have to apply the updates manually.
Here's a link to the document with the latest update and instructions on getting/installing:

I think this information is wrong, or SME doesn´t want to give support anymore for non registered users.
Neither of the ftp servers are working or, they have no updates, or they have the unsupported release with... 0 (cero) bytes (just chek ftp.fsn.hu and see)

Mitel's FTP server has been down for a while, this was posted on the forum and was mentioned to use the mirrors from now on. I see the updates on this mirror:

So what's the problem?
