Hi again,
I have an Alcatel 1000 ADSL modem together with a Flowpoint 2025 firewall/router! The problem now is that I can't install E-smith as sever & gateway, as server it is working allmost (but that's another post on this phorum) 100%. The idea was to use E-smith as server & gateway but then I need to disconnect the Flowpoint router/firewall, and that doesn't work!! Is there anybody overthere who has the same configuration and has it working as server & gateway???
TIA,
Eddy,

Eddy,
I am a little puzzled. I have a DSL service. E-smith is running as server & gateway. The e-smith has two nic's - one connected to a DSL Flowpoint 2200 router.
The Flowpoint 2200 is really a router and "modem" (I wonder why we keep calling it that).
Why do you need the Flowpoint 2025 and Alcatel "modem" at the same time?
Maybe the Flowpoint 2025 is just a plain router, I guess. If so, you cannot move it off the service.
Please clarify your situation.

Orville,
yep, things in Belgium aren't allways as logic as one would inspect! What happend: I ordered an ADSL service from our local phone company, some months (!) later they installed an Alcatel 1000 modem + a FlowPoint 2025 router/firewall. Yes, the idea was to install E-smith (with 2 nics) as Server & Gateway (router)! But now I don't know how to disable the FlowPoint 2025. If I connect my Alcatel modem directly to one of the nics of my E-smith-box, then I can't connect to the internet! If the Flowpoint 2025 is a plain router, why can't I remove it? Is E-smith not capable of 'emulating' a plain router???
TIA,
Eddy,
