Title: PPPD errors -> Unable to connect through DialUP
Post by: Trevor L.C. Schouwstra on July 20, 2003, 02:51:10 AM
Team,

"Yes I know"....sigh... dial up. (temporary)

Im having trouble connecting SME 5.6 to my ISP. I setup with correct account information, and it picks up modem as TTYs0. (Its a 3com FaxData 56k) from a Dell PC. On my Dell Box, LINUX installs fine and sees modem. When using a Compaq Deskpro 4000 (nice little gateway box) all hardware is detected but can't get modem to dial? Is there a string to add? Driver? Any tricks?

Any thoughts? Thanking you in advance..

Best Regards......

K
Im embarrased...
Not using 3com,

Using conexant HSF...and found that current module of SME does not load Conexant Modems. Driver is at www.linuxant.com..

Umm there is a valid question i have... do you have to admin sme server via network, or can you install rpm's directly from box itself? If so, how do you bypass Console?

Thanks !
