Title: Bandwidth Limiting on MSE6.0B2
Post by: Jerry on July 21, 2003, 07:51:50 PM
It there an easy way to limit bandwidth on the 6.0 Beta 2? I have look on Contribs.org and have not been able to find an answer.

Also has anyone succesfully blocked Kazaa using 6.0?

Kazaa is not port specific meaning a user can just change the port if you block it. You may be better off implementing some type of software policy on the local machine.

ftp://ftp.sme-server.nl/e-smith/contrib/eneo/RPMS/noarch/eneo-qos_cbq-0.1-05en.noarch.rpm

I think this is what you looking for, it seems to work on 5.12, 5.5, and 5.6.

If someone could provide some instructions to patch mod-string into iptables, maybe blocking Kazaa at server level is still possible.

Maarten,

I have tried the eneo-qos rpm on 5.5 and the english version does not work, there is a step in the process missing.

I have also heard form one other person who has the same problem with the french release so it looks like 0.1-05 release is foobar!
