On the e-smith.org website, look for "download developer release".

DOH! Didn't read that too closely, maybe I shouldn't respond to stuff at 5AM. :)

David,
Why do you want a "non-developer" release? As far as I know, the "developer release" is the same as the retail version - it's just that you don't get any official support with it. The title "developer release" seemed to appear with version 5.6 - I guess it's Mitel's way of encouraging people to go and pay for their supported version :) However, it remains an open source project and anyone's welcome to use it for free - and this board seems to give pretty good support!
I hope I've got all this right - I'm pretty new to SME server myself. I'm sure someone will correct me if I've missed the point or got something wrong.

The nice thing about the retail version is that it includes, Antivirus, spam filtering, groupware. Now I know these can be installed on the developer release, as I have done some of them myself. Its just really nice to have it right there for you. And also the support that you get.

Hi
Sounds good to me.
That all comes on a set of disks does it?
How do they do the support via Email?

Hi all,
Anybody got the estimated pricing for a supported server license ??

You'd be lucky !!
I have been trying to find out for ages. The only way to buy it in the UK is from a Telephone Disti. Which in my eye's does not bode well. They quoted a price which I puts it well out of the budget of most SME's, and makes MS Small Business Server look very attractive.
I have now given up trying to resell the retail version, and have taken advice from this board and started inplementing the developer release. To be honest the support from everyone on here far exceeded my expectations.

The commercial version offers much more than the developer version. You only one to get the commercial version if you are going to subscribe to ServiceLink
The ServiceLink subscription offer a set of valuable features that greatly enhance your server. There's a cost involved, but now you can personalize your subscription so you only pay for what you really need.
Some of these features are:
- Virus Protection (for your files and e-mail. Better virus protection than the traditional McAfee and Symantec solutions, which update their virus definitions once a week. Mitel updates immediately after they have them available).
- Spam Filtering.
-Web content filtering.
- Guaranteed e-mail (never loose a message; even if your server goes down, when it's back online, your incoming message will download into the server).
- Web-based Groupware.
- IPSec VPN (Monitored VPN connection between multiple locations)
- Mail2Fax Gateway.
- And much more.
All these features make SME Server much more attractive than any M$ solution, especially when considering the "extras" you have to pay for, such as Antivirus, Backup with Disaster Recovery, etc.
And Mitel's support is outstanding.
If you want to learn more about these features, just go to Mitel's website, or you may contact me via e-mail.
