Post by: jam on July 24, 2003, 04:56:54 PM
Hi all,

I am trying to index files in a directory for my remote user to download.

download and rpm -Uvh  e-smith-mod_perl-0.0.1-2.noarch.rpm and gjz-mitel-modindex-0.0.4-2.noarch.rpm from contribs.org

I have read through but don't understand
http://mirror.contribs.org/smeserver/contribs/gzartman/HowToGuides/indexer-howto.htm

Can someone provide a much detail help?

The users on these forums are good, but they are not mind readers. You have to be specific and tell us what it is that you don't understand if you want some response !!!

If you instal the modindex rpms, it rep[laces the way your files are normally displayed in a web browser, with the new display method that modindex uses.

Just do what the instructions say (ie using a web browser), "Browse to a file repository on your web server to verify that the new indexer is working.  That's it.  :-)"
