Title: Dial-up config
Post by: Robin Malton on July 25, 2003, 11:30:14 AM
Am very new to e-smith and linux in general, but having great fun!

Have a working dial-up internet connection, but would like it a little more tweaked to suit my needs:

My ISP provides a weekday payg 8am - 6pm connection number and then a free weekend and night time connection on a different number.

Can someone kindly help me set this up to work automatically. Step-by-step, without too many assumptions please!

Many thanks

Robin

Hi,

Stephen Noble has a great rpm for this.  It adds a page to the server manager which allows youto select different dial times for each day of the week.

Do a bit of reading here: http://www.dungog.net/sme/help/

You need to download and install: dialmon-0.8-1.i386.rpm from http://www.dungog.net/sme/files/dialuptools/

And also dungog-ispconnection rpm which yo may have to pay for but is entirely worth it in my opinion from past experience!

Hope all goes well,

Jason
