Hi Dan
thanks for all your recent replies, that web site doesn't seem to ba avaliable, is it mirrored anywhere?

There's no mirror that I'm aware of, but the article pulled up just fine for me about 30 seconds ago.

Robert,
I used the link that you provided to upgrade my php to 4.2 and it seems to have worked fairly well. the only problem that I have now is that all of my webpages show up blank. This includes both HTML/PHP and webmail. Any suggestions would be helpful. I'm not even sure where to start trouble shooting.
Thanks,

Robert, sorry this should have been to Dan Brown.

I wouldn't call that working "fairly well". Are there any errors in /var/log/messages or in your apache error log?
-
Dan,
Thanks for writing. I've checked the logs and found nothing out of order. I've checked the system from the local network and everything is working fine. But if I try to access the web mail from the internet (https), all I get is a blank screen. Have I missed something? One of the notes that I read about upgrading php said that it could cause problems with web mail, and that another module needed to be updated. I can't remember were I read it, or what module to upgrade.
So, for now it all works from the local net, and the only thing not working from the internet is the web mail. Can the web mail be upgraded? and do you think that upgrading it might help?
Thanks,
Mark

If you followed the directions at the link above, you would have upgraded the webmail as well. Yes, I believe you need to upgrade the webmail to work with the newer version of PHP.
-
I followed the instrutions so it may just be a problem with the IMP portion of the upgrade. It works on the local net, but not from an external network. I'll look for a newer version of IMP and install it.
Thanks,
Mark

what does 'rpm -q imp' return? Though if it works from the LAN, that isn't likely to be your problem...
-
imp-3.2.1-2es and I think that's the lattest greatest.
-
You're right, that's the latest. Problem must be somewhere else. You're sure there's nothing in the system logs? I've been running into occasional blank page problems, but there's always been an error logged.
-
Can you give me an example of what to look for?
-
Well, anything with PHP in it would be a good candidate for /var/log/messages, or anything from the horde directory in error_log. If I had a more specific idea, I'd already know what your problem was. (-:

Dan,
I looked thru the logs and found nothing. So I went back thru the server seetings and turned off the webmail, saved the settings and then went back in and set webmail to https:. and it's all working fine again. something in the update, or something that I did wrong during the update, must have changed a value in the security settings. At any rate, it's all back to normal (what ever that is).
thanks,
Mark

OK, I guess... Sometimes things just act a little strange, and I think this is one of those times. In any case, glad it's working!
