I will soon be replacing my Cisco DSL modem with an Actiontec DSL modem.
The new modem has a web interface at 192.168.0.1.
My internal network is at 192.168.1.xxx.
Is it possible to access the web interface through SME 5.6? If so, how?

No special setup required. I can access my IPcop firewall interface thru the SME server simply by plugging in the url.

Common solution is to change either the modem or SME to the same subnet.
Changing the modem should be more feasible.

I tried accessing the interface without making changes. Doesn't work.
I can't change SME's external IF to 192.168.0.xxx as that would mess up our internet connection, at least not now as that will irritate my boss. :-)
And our ISP said to wait until the new service goes active before programming it. So... I'm going to wait until Monday before making any changes to the modem.

Why not hook up another workstation or a laptop to the modem and set it up before putting it in service?
