Title: PASS command

When trying to receive email through my SME server using Mozilla, I get the following message:  "PASS command did not succeed.  Mail Server xxx.xxx.x.xxx responded.  Authorization failed."  I also get the same message using Ximian.  How do I go about correting this in order to receive email using my SME server?  

A very frustrated newbie!

Are you entering a username and password for a valid user who does not have his account locked?
