In a very late night attempt to gain write access to a folder on an e-smith server, I messed with the permissions settings for a folder farther up the file tree, now I don't receive e-mail. The mail is in the mail folder, but not being delivered.
What are the group and user permission settings for the user folders?
Thanks...........
on a side note, will upgrading from 5.5 to 5.6 reset the permission settings on these folders?

Here's what I have:
This is the users directory:
drwxr-xr-x 2 xxxx xxxx 4096 Feb 14 19:02 home
drwx------ 6 xxxx xxxx 4096 Feb 15 16:39 Mail
drwxr-xr-x 5 xxxx xxxx 4096 Feb 14 20:02 Maildir
This is the users "Maildir" directory:
drwxr-xr-x 2 xxxx xxxx 4096 Aug 13 22:23 cur
drwxr-xr-x 2 xxxx xxxx 4096 Aug 15 20:09 new
drwxr-xr-x 2 xxxx xxxx 4096 Aug 15 20:09 tmp
And the "Mail" directory:
drwx------ 5 xxxx xxxx 4096 Feb 15 16:39 Drafts
drwx------ 5 xxxx xxxx 4096 Feb 16 18:03 Keepers
drwx------ 5 xxxx xxxx 4096 Feb 15 16:43 sent-mail
drwx------ 5 xxxx xxxx 4096 Feb 14 20:55 Trash
PS: The "xxxx"'s are the users login name.

if you dont know then you can always do "chown -R user folder"
"chgrp -R user folder"
then you are back in buisness and own your things again.
