Post by: Yovko Lambrev on July 20, 2000, 01:42:18 PM
I can't see my e-smith 4.0 server from my Windows clients (95, 98, 98SE, 2000) ?

Some ideas ?

Did you specify your workgroup to be "e-smith" from the win clients?  If you right-click on Network Neighborhood and select the Identification page you will see your workgroup setting.

Of course!
Not exactly 'e-smith' - I set my e-smith server's workgroup to 'esmith' and some of windows clients too (I have more than 30 workgroups and I don't want everybody in e-smith's group) but I can't even see the e-smith server from Find computer menu. I have a Samba server on a computer running Red Hat 6.2 and I can see it from Windows clients but not e-smith's Samba. There are smbd and nmbd processes running:

595 ?        S      0:00 smbd -D
606 ?        S      0:00 (unlinkd)
607 ?        S      0:03 nmbd -D
610 ?        S      0:00 nmbd -D

/etc/smbd.conf file is OK but...
