				Hi,

I need to be able to connect to my server using putty and  the SSH protocol. I have had to change the port from 22 to 23 to allow me to connect from work (firewall restrictions etc). This worked no problem.

I have downloaded and installed the port opening RPMs and opened port 23. When port scanning the port appears but shows as closed.

How can I get this port to open and accept connections.?

 Thanks
 Howard

do you scan the ports with the portscan-contrib?
it does not tell you the truth.
 it only scans for "standard"-ports...

				Howard,

Did you allow secure shell access in the remote section of server-manager ? if you are looking to access command line functions you will also have to enable it

Hi, I have allowed this using remote access and I can connect from my local network using this port no problem.. I use the shields up and another online service to display open ports.

When I use the port opening rpm to open port 23 and then perform a scan, it says that the port is closed. When I haven't opened a port using the port opening rpm the port is not listed..

 Thanks
