Title: NIC config
Post by: Robol on September 02, 2003, 03:36:38 PM
Hi,

I'm running SME v5.5 and just had to replace one of my NIC's.
This new NIC is from Realtek, a 8139D.

The current setting is "autonegotiation disabled" and "10baseT-HD"

Is there somebody who can help me out on this one.
I want to enable the "autonegotiation" and select "100baseTx-FD".

Maybe you know where I find a tool how to set this or how I can create some conf-file.

Thanks

ifconfig on the NIC shows what? I've typed "man ifconfig" at the prompt and there is a section called "media type" where the settings can be done.

Thanks for the reply!

"man ifconfig" gives "command not found"
"ifconfig" has no section called "media type"

I've typed these commands at my root prompt

Let me know
