Title: Port Forwarding to an Internal network
Post by: Les Kerjenski on September 05, 2003, 01:25:21 AM
Hi,
Been trying to forward an internet connection through SME to an internal IP machine on the network.  Very unsuccessfully.
What I would like to do is use an email server other than SME, and this sits on a different IP, 192.168.100.2, how can I get the mitel server to port forward to this IP address ?
The other server is running Windows 2000 Professional.

Many thanks in advance of anyones help......

Cheers,

Les Kerjenski.

first: search the forum may help in any cases!!

a) you have to disable the mail-service on your SME-box.
b) then you have to open the port for mail-traffic with the port-opening-contrib.
c) after that you can forward the traffic to the mail-port to any machine in your local network using the port-forwarding-contrib.

for further information use the search-function of that forum.
the search-button is your friend...

cheers klaus

set up the 2k server as "delegate email server" in server-manager and it will work fine

no port forwarding needed
