You should check your setup again, there is no connection bug in 5.6 Checking your log files to see why your connection was dropping would also be a good idea

A rather sweeping statement and inaccurate. Check the bugs page.

However Arno doesn't say how he is connecting to the net, leased line, ISDN. modem. And as it did work and presumably no config changes or reboots have taken place between it working and not the problem with ISDN on the bugs page isn't likely to be the cause.

My 5.6u4 system connected via a NIC into an RF delivered wideband network has never (touch wood) had connectivity problems related to the NIC or cable.

Cheers
Dave.

Use a SSH file transfer program like WinSCP2, not ftp, then you will see the complete file structure.

I sometimes loose internet access too. This appears to be some sort of intermitant lease renewal problem between SME 5.5 u6 and my cable provider. I have no idea which side causes the problem and it doesn't happen often. Maybe once a month. When it does happen, I pull up a console and do the "ifdown eth1" and "ifup eth1" commands and everything is back to normal.
