Title: multiple domains
Post by: Mike on September 16, 2003, 03:51:00 AM
I have seen several explanantions about multiple domains but here goes. If I get an answer, many thanks for it and thanks for all of the reader's patience with us newbie types.

ISP is time warner (cable modem)
Set up e-smith server 6.0 beta 3
domain set to domain.com
e-smith server name moses
web site loaded to primary i-bay
account set up with dyndns.org (Custom DNS since I own the domain name)
account name = domain
Set up another i-bay named xaltnet
Set up Dynamic host domain2.ath.cx at dyndns.org
created domain on e-smith server domain2.ath.cx and pointed it to the xaltnet i-bay
placed test file in HTML folder index.html
waited overnight
can not access the i-bay from the browser.
http://www.domain2.ath.cx returns nothing
http://domain2.ath.cx returns index.html from primary i-bay
the only way i can hit the i-bay from the browser is to www.domain.com/xaltnet

What may be wrong???

As has been posted innumerable times, all issues with the 6.0 beta should be reported ONLY to smebugs@mitel.com.  However, you should probably install the latest updates first, if you haven't already.

Oh, and www.whatever will only work if you tell dyndns.org to turn on the wildcard.
