Post by: SiLvErChAiR on September 16, 2003, 02:16:13 PM
Hi!

My question is: I would like to send an e-mail trough my SME Server. I'm connectet to the external Network device. Is the only chance to send an E-MAil the IMP Webmail Interface or ist it possible to use an E-Mail Client?

Thanks

Felix

You can use a wide variety of e-mail clients on your win/mac/*nix workstations to use th e-mail server included in sme.
After creating the user account in your sme box, of course, you
just need to configure "mail.yourdomainname.---"(com,org or what ever your domain is) or just your sme's ip addres,  as your mail server address, to get connected

To send mail externally you can VPN to your SME server or install the Secure Email Contrib that will let you send mail after authenticating.
