Title: Download Filter
Post by: Ronald Tanis on September 19, 2003, 02:01:09 PM
Hello,

Is there an option for E-smith that users can access the internet, but that some users cannot download files (such as mp3).

Thanks for your time,

dans gaurdian from dungog.net should do what you want, search the forums here or check out contribs.org for details

Dans Gaurdian is webpage content filter. Yes, you can have it block specific file types but this only works from standard webpages. Ftp, per-to-peer will still be able to receive/send those file types.

you could simply install a port plocking rpm and block ports like 21 (ftp) 1214 (kazaa) etc but this would be for all users
