Title: Printer stopped working?

I have a epson inkjet (880) connected to the lpt port of my sme 5.6 box and recently it stopped accepting print jobs. It appears the printer is working and there is nothing wrong with the connection to sme but connections are denied from the network. I tried removing and reinstalling the printer using the graphic interface and that made no difference.

Any suggestions on what to check ? I dont want to reinstall sme if I can avoid it.
