Title: New install will it have SCSI support by default?
Post by: Jason Arthurs on October 06, 2003, 05:25:31 PM
Having done an initial install to test and configure SME server I'm now very happy that it all works well. However I didn't know when I installed it that it had tape backup facilities, so I'm building another machine with a SCSI card to migrate my current installation across to.

The new machine will be:

Fujistsu 60Gb EIDE (BOOT)
Adaptec AHA2940AU (PCI Ultra SCSI)
HP SureStore DAT24 (DDS-3)

My question is, does SME automatically install SCSI support if it finds a SCSI card?

Regards,
Jason.

Yes if added card before install and is a listed card in the SCSI Support on SME

No if you have installed SME and then added card, but you can still install the SCSI card.
