Title: DHCP configuration file?
Post by: Peter on October 10, 2003, 04:00:25 PM
I have the SME 5.5u6-02 server acting as a DHCP server but it doesn't seem to give the right default gateway values the server is acting in server mode. Its address is 192.168.0.1 and the router gateway is 192.168.0.254.  However, the client windows 2k machines are all configured to use DHCP and have no manual proxy settings but they seem to be using the value previously used under static IP addressing.

Is the DHCP configuration in a file somewhere because it seems like the default gateway information is missing from the DHCP bundle that is issued bt the server.

Any ideas?

Cheers, Peter.

Update:

I have just looked in the network configuration for the client machine that is having problems and although the network configuration is set to obtain a config automatically in the grey'ed out box the old static default gateway was still enetered, I removed this and hey presto the ipconfig command returned all the correct information.

So it loks like a problem in Win2k rather than SME.
