Can I just say that the team that monitors this board, and helps us users out is one of the most friendly, knowledgable, and refreshing teams I've come across in a while. There's none of that typical "oh, YOU want to install linux now?" attitude that seems to dominate some of the factions of linuxdom out there. Also, it goes without saying that their product itself is a top notch, cost effective, simple as a rock, and just as solid solution for anyone from a family looking to build a little home network to share an internet connection, to a small office, to even a larger corporate environment. I just wanted to tip my hat to a fine team, and a fine product.

Wow - thank you :-) We've worked hard to build a great team, and very much appreciate your comments.

Andy:
I have to really agree with you on that point

I work for an ISP, local to E-Smith and after asking a few questions at a recent meeting with Joe, he pulled a few techs over to actually walk me through a setup ( it took me 12 minutes to finish because I insisted on reading every screen) and he answered every question personally.
These guys know their stuff and did not come off as Linux gurus but better yet, Professional Linux users who've found a dream job : working with what they love and not afraid to share in Joe's vision of building a server which serves you, and not the other way around.

This week we installed e-smith 4.0 final on one of our dual-pII machines.
After running into some difficulty with the email server Mr.Charlie Brady was
very helpfull in solving the problem. [Charlie, YOU DA MAN!]
However, some mail delivery problems continued. So, I decided to go back
to e-smith 4.0b7 on the server (Shoot me!) - since it worked flawlessly for months.
Well, e-smith4.0b7 had the same mail delivery problems. I just discovered
my ISP was(is) having problems with its email server upgrade. The "problem"
was NOT e-smith at all. The email retrieval settings in e-smith had to be changed from:
username@myisp.com to username@mail.myisp.com.
During all this mail delivery to my own domain (users@mydomain.com) continued to work - that should
have told me e-smith was ok. But NOOOOOO! Reinstall e-smith beta, I said. That will fix it, I said. WRONG!
Some of my isps' users can only read their mail using IMAP.
They are still working on patching the upgrade.
Now I can continue retrieving mail from my isps email box into e-smith.
Last night I reinstalled e-smith 4.0 final. Why bother, you may ask.
Well....Its a real learning experience and keeps me familiar with e-smith.
This was my only issue with any e-smith installation since v3.1.
Truely an excellent piece of software.
