Post by: Hans on October 20, 2003, 04:32:46 AM
Hi,

I have a little problem.

with SME 5.6 everything I need run great (Twiggi for example)
with 6.0 I have some small problems (Twiggi have some Problems with User Manager or with Public Folders)
but...
with SME 5.6 I cant connet directly to my DSL Provider with 6.0 this wil work fine
so... I like to go to 5.6 (I think it is easyer to fix the login problem)

wat is the diverence in the PPOE between 5.6 and 6.0

my provider give me a userid like aa/bbbb.cc#dddd

best regards
Hans

hello

i had the same problem with PPPOE.
my provider is t-link.de.
first i had a login without the "#", but after a while i got a login of the same type as yours.

the problem and solution:
the pppoed gives the login in not-quoted version to the pppd, the pppd gets confused by the "#".
after googling a bit i found a new pppoe, the gives the login in quoted version to the pppd. now it works fine for me.
the new version is e-smith-rp-pppoe-1.8.0-02.

feel free to contact me per email, because i'm german.

cheers klaus
