Title: Securemail
Post by: Jens K on November 09, 2003, 11:30:23 PM
I am looking for a way to make my e-smith 5.6 work with secure mail. I have downloaded the package from http://www.pagefault.org/code/e-smith.shtml#securemail

The page refers to the cvm pakage cvm-0.11-1.i386.rpm but i can't find that version on the net. The present version is version 0.17-1.
Does anybody know if it will work with version 0.17-1 of the cvm?
As an alternative can anybody give me a link to version 0.11-1?

Will  I still be able to use my normal e-smith webmail after I have installed the securenail pakage?

Hi Jens,

Try the following link:

http://www.watson-trant.homeunix.net/downloads/e-smith/securemail/

I have cvm-0.11 in there if you want it, but we are using 0.17-1 successfully at work on a 5.5u6 server.

Martin.

Hi Martin.
If You are using cvm 0.17-1 without problems I will try it as well.

Does the securemail system have any influence on the function/use of the webmail part of e-smith?

Hi Jens,
We don't have a problem, both exist happily together. Our external sales people use twiggi or webmail while on the road, also they can use Outlook to send/receive. In their accounts in Outlook we have checked the option 'My server requires authentication' for outgoing mail server, then 'use same settings as my incoming mail server'  -  This will depend on how you set up your secure mail, there are several options!

Hope this helps,

Martin.
