Title: Questions to www server root and i-bays
Post by: Stefan Sabolowitsch on November 10, 2003, 03:07:00 PM
Hi NG,

With the standard installation reflects "www.xxx.com" the directory
/home/e-smith/files/primary/html.
It is possible to provide via i-bay for an ftp account for this listing directory.
The reason is, which is needed a ftp account for this directory (html service e.g).
This is possible, if how ?
And ask the suitable Tamplates in addition.
Or is there another possibility for it?
It would be ideal, if one could make all of this with the SME server manager.

Thanks for each assistance.

Cheers

Stefan

not 100% sure what you want Stefan but
... most likely http://www.dungog.net/sme/files/dungog-proftpd-chroot-0.1-3.noarch.rpm dungog's, aka Stephen Noble's,  Configuration templates and panel for chroot options for the ProFTPd ftp server - will fit the bill.
...more info via search or at the various contib sites.

Ok , somewhat more simply.
Which I must do, so that an external user with ftp can access to
/home/esmith/files/primary/html.
Here those must be put down HTML sides.

Cheers

- install the above contrib rpm
- generate new user in panel
- chroot user in panel (new contrib) to ... /home/esmith/files/primary/html
(and chroot the other users to whatever you like)
- activate global ftp access
