Title: server-manager access probs
Post by: Ian Hobson on November 12, 2003, 01:17:43 AM
Hi,

I have just built a new machine, and it works fine, except for one problem.... I cannot access server-manager from it.

Server-manager works fine from all other machines on the network I have tested. It can browse the internet, and browse sites hosts on the firewall.

http://jupiter/server-manager gives me "host not found or dns error" error, but
http://jupiter/server-man  gives the expected 404 - page not found error.

It has been given one of the DHCP addresses. All machines have Win2k, but this is the only one with 100% up to date with all fixes.

Any ideas about why and what to do to fix it?  What should I check?

Regards

Ian

I believe with the new releases of e-smith you have to access the server-manager locally as in http://192.168.xx.1/server-manager

its a security thing
