Title: Fetchmail timeout

Using SME 6.0 and fetchmail to pick up mail from a pop3 account (ISP is freeserve.co.uk) I get intermittently

Nov 23 13:45:04 mserver fetchmail[4677]: client/server synchronization error while fetching from pop.freeserve.net
Nov 23 13:45:04 mserver fetchmail[4677]: Query status=7 (ERROR)
Nov 23 13:55:05 mserver fetchmail[4748]: timeout after 300 seconds.

It seems to choke on particular spam messages e.g. if there are 10 messages on the pop3 server the first 4 will be downloaded repeatedly and 5 onwards are never downloaded. If I notice this and delete the 5th message using webmail the remaining messages will then be fetched and all is well for a while.

I have spamassassin and clam/amavis antivirus installed but the problem occurs with either or both of these disabled.

I have seen suggestions to upgrade fetchmail to 6.1.0 - will this work with SME6.0 ?

Any other suggestions ?

Wondering if you got anywhere with this as I have the same error different isp on a customers site.
