Hi all. I would like to add a second ADSL modem connection to my SME Server 5.6 that I use as firewall for a small intranet in my office.
I have searched the FAQ and other lists under "multiple ASDL", "two PPoE", "multiple ISP" with no luck. I am doing something wrong for sure because I have seen a general article that explains that this can be done with ease, but nothing says about SME Server 5.6 in particular.
Do you guys know how to get a blade or contribution for adding this extra bandwith to my server with "load balancing" ? Is it so simple toi achieve ?
Thank you in advance.

You need a multihomed router. Save yourself the headache and buy a dedicated appliance to do it for you. Unless enybody else can help?
Sorry I can't be more help. I spent a great deal of time looking for the same thing and gave up.

I have a PROISB800 router....it makes great load balance between two services. Currently, I have ADSL and Satelite service joined thorugh the box. It's also a great firewall.
Let me know question.......
Good luck....

Hi guys ! I am a real newbie to SME and Linux, but I am an electronics designer. I have heard that this double ADSL connection is not very complicated to achieve. In my case I have two telephone lines. One is already in use for ADSL connection to my SME server 6.0 that is working fine for my internal LAN in the office. I could probably use the second line to hire the same ISP with an extra ADSL modem (free) and I would have to plug in a second ethernet card for external internet connection. In this case I would have different dynamic IP´s coming into my server. Does somebody know how to do this ? Any other comments ? Thank you ! :-D
