Title: mailserver setup
Post by: Hugo Snellen on December 17, 2003, 06:49:12 PM
Hello,

I have several users with each several external email accounts.
Is there an efficient way to collect and distribute all their email through SME?
TIA
Hugo

Hello!

You could ask your provider if they can supply you with a catchall account.  Then you can delete the users from ISP Server, and al mails will be delivered to this account. SME server can pick these mails up and then deliver them to the users.

Otherwise I do belive that there is a contrib for collecting different mails up.
I myself prefer the catchall method.

Use the POP3 mail contrib from Dungog.net

If all emails are direct to my server - what if it goes down - seems to me ISPs use a secondary mail server.

If I have a friend with a SME servers can we use each other as a 2ndary mail server?
