Hello!
I found the various versions on contribs.org for spam assassin a bit confusing. One of the versions I used had no documentation and didn't do anything even when I enabled it.
I found that this worked for SME 6.0 b3
http://sme.swerts-knudsen.dk/howtos/howto_16.htm
I first did an rpm -e on the previous version I had installed by running:
rpm -e spamassassin
Spamassassin can learn, so what I did was let some mail build up, and then I ran the commands against a spam folder and my inbox, (which had no spam as I had been saving it in my spam folder).
sa-learn --ham /home/e-smith/files/users/mj/Maildir/cur/
sa-learn --spam /home/e-smith/files/users/mj/Maildir/\;spam/cur
That bit about the ; threw me off at first.
I'm not sure how often I need to teach it, but I'm learning.
If anyone has any other advice, please post it here. There seems to be no central 'spamassassin for SME' page on contribs.org. (maybe there isn't meant to be?)
Enjoy,
Matt
