Above is an error i get that stops my sme server running and locks it up. I am running and unpatched / unmodded install on a Dell Optilex GX1.  I think it may just be the disk getting ready to pack and go south for the winter ( 13Gb Fujitsu ).  Just wondering if anyone else has had the same and if changing the drive cured the problem.

Cheers and thanks for any response.

What is the model number of the Fujistsu Drive? There are thousands and thousands of Fujitsu drives that have gone faulty in the last year.Usually 10 or 20 Gig drives. The fault is caused by a chip which goes faulty  as it gets hotter. Do a search on www.theregister.co.uk for Fujitsu and you will see all of the details.

that snippet was from the "messages" logfile.  The drive in question is a MPD3130AT so is not part of the Fujitsu fiasco, but I am getting some new drives in a few days to upgrade some other pc's so will try one of those drives and see how it goes.

You could test your drive using the Drive Fitness Test (DFT) program from IBM/Hitachi, which will test most drives without overwriting existing data.
