I was reading through posts dating back to 2001 in the E-smith forums where people were asking about future support for multiple harddrives in SME. I didn't see the option during the initial setup, but if I needed to install 2 or more harddrives in the future, is it possible?
I read a great tutorial @ justlinux.com
http://www.justlinux.com/nhf/Hardware/Adding_a_Hard_Drive_in_Linux.html
Let me know if any of you are using 2 or more harddrives (not RAID 1)

Here is a good starting point for you:

Also, put "second hard drive" or "additional hard drive" in a search and you will come up with multiple solutions.
Good Luck

That link doesn't work, and a search only brings up a few threads. Is there anywhere else I can start on my quest to add a 200gb drive to my 30gb main drive?
Thanks

Take a look at Michiel Blotwijk's excellent how-to
How to add an extra hard disk to a SME server
http://mirror.contribs.org/smeserver/contribs/mblotwijk/HowToGuides/AddExtraHardDisk.htm
Worked for me! Wish I had a 200gig drive to add in there, though ;-)

The only thing I will add to this as Michiel did a great job on the Tut is under 6.0 you can just go ahead and format it ext3 from the get go and not have to bother with the tune2fs -j section. other than that it worked great for me.

I think a key word from the tutorial listed above is adding an additional drive to AN EXISTING server.
Booting up a PC with 4 drives to install SME will not get the desired results. Install with one drive then add additional as per the tutorial.
I currently have 4 drives ranging from 40gig to 190gig on my SME box. (Have an IDE PCI controller ATA133 that came with the largest drive so I theoretically could fit three more before having to drop out the cdrom)
