Title: Outlook express and LDAP
Post by: Christo Pretorius on September 11, 2000, 07:54:08 PM
Hi,

I've tried to configure MS Outlook express to use e-smith's
LDAP service with the following settings:

server name: the e-smith server's IP address
service port number: 389

I did NOT select the "This server requires me to log on" option.

My LDAP settings of my e-smith server is set to PUBLIC.

When I try to search fo a VALID user or e-mail address, Outlook
doesn't find the necessary entry.

Has anyone managed to setup this facility successfully?
If anyone has, please let me know how.

Thank you.

Edit the properties of your ldap directory service in outlook express and make sure that you have the correct search base entered.  Your search base information can be found using the e-smith manager screens by clicking on directory listed in the configuration options.

Good Luck
