Title: two SME, two different domains - laptop users
Post by: Francois Dion on January 16, 2004, 12:54:39 AM
Allright. Got another issue. I got 1 sme 5.6 set up in my home office. It has a certain domain. Got 2 other locations w/5.6, each with a domain. Windows 2000 laptop. I'd like to log in on any of the domains at each site without having to go thru the local administrator account and change domain there. Is there any way to do that? I cant VPN these sites due to policy.

Thanks

In the MS world, any trusted domains are available for you to login to. You might research to see if samba domains can be trusted like MS domains.

post your results

Somebody suggested this is best accomplished thru a registry hack, instead of doing it from the SME side. Anybody familiar with this registry modification? (adding the domains manually so they show up on the login dialog).

Thanks

Is it absoutly necassary that you log into the domain???
If you only logged onto your laptop then you can still use resouces on the other domains.
